Malagasy businessman Ylias Akbaraly is among the hundred personalities having contributed to the transformation of Africa in 2023, according to the ranking established by Financial Afrik magazine. This distinction highlights his leadership and commitment to the socio-economic development of the continent.

As Chairman of the Redland Group, owning companies such as Thomson Broadcast, GatesAir and the Sipromad Group, Ylias Akbaraly embodies an ambitious vision for Africa’s future. Among the initiatives he launched on the continent through the group and in particular its international subsidiaries, the democratization of digital terrestrial television (DTT) across the continent, thus moving from analog to digital broadcasting systems.
