Realme returns to France with two new mid-range smartphones, after an official return with the Realme C67 a few weeks ago. These are the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+, which intend to offer a premium experience at a reasonable price. Let’s see what happens.
It has been almost a year since Realme left the French market. The Chinese manufacturer briefly returned a few weeks ago with a smartphone for less than 300 euros, the Realme C67. This time, it goes upmarket with the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. At the same time, Realme formalized the arrival of the Realme 12X in China.
The Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ want to be the kings of photography for less than 500 euros
Where Realme tries to hit hard is on the photo aspect. This is one of the first times that we have seen a periscopic photo sensor on such an inexpensive model. The idea is to offer with this sensor a x3 optical zoom, coupled with a digital zoom to obtain a x6 zoom, or a 71 mm equivalent.
Behind this, the OV64B Omnivision 1/2″ sensor found on more high-end models. This is only for the Plus version: the cheapest model uses a Sony IMX709. On the main sensor side, it is a Sony IMX890 from Sony for the Plus version, and a Sony IMX882 for the base model.
Big screen, big load: is Realme sauce back?
The Realme 12 Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 7 s Gen 2, a 4nm chip released last September. For the 12 Pro “everything short», we can count on a less powerful SoC, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. For memory, we find in the two Realme smartphones 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Realme 12 Pro which arrives directly under Android 14 thanks to the Realme UI 5.0 interface.
On the screen side, both models are equipped with the same panel, namely an OLED curved on the sides (for a body/screen ratio of 93%) of 6.7 inches and with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. Realme announces be able to cover 100% of DCI-P3. Everything is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 67 W SUPERVOOC charging (also found at OnePlus and Oppo).
Price and availability of Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+
These two smartphones are sold only on Amazon for the French market, in beige and blue colors. They are available at these prices:
- Realme 12 Pro: 399.99 euros;
- Realme 12 Pro+: 499.99 euros.
Until March 25, both smartphones benefit from a reduction of 100 euros.
