The new team of the Malagasy Sports Boules Federation (FSBM) has just published the calendar of national-scale points competitions, for the 2024 season. Twelve meetings, including four organized by the Federation and eight by the leagues, appear in the list of major major events of the year.

“These competitions will be based on points in order to establish the ranking of Malagasy bowlers. The best ranked will be prioritized in the national selection for international competitions,” clarifies Adrien Julio Edouard Andrianirina, interim president of the federation. The latter stressed, however, that “Madagascar will not yet be able to integrate international competitions into the calendar, as long as the Federation does not receive the official letter lifting the sanction”. The FSBM will ensure the organization of championships and cups.

The Madagascar Cup is scheduled for April 5 to 7 in Antsirabe, followed by the head-to-head National Championship from May 3 to 5. The National Doubles Summit will take place from June 28 to 30, and the National Triplets Championships will take place from September 27 to 29. The host cities for these last three meetings have yet to be defined. “The Federation has entrusted the leagues with the organization of regional tournaments which will be open to all licensees,” continues the boss of the FSBM.

The Haute-Matsiatra league will host the South zone tournament on April 20 and 21. Analamanga will continue with its championship, on June 15 and 16, then the Vakinankaratra league, on July 27 and 28, another Analamanga tournament, at the end of August, and the Vakinankaratra tournament, on September 7 and 8. Atsinanana and Itasy will host their tournaments, respectively scheduled for September 14-15 and October 26-27.

Ten other tournaments which do not appear in the list of points competitions will also be on the program for this season. The Federation will start the year, as usual, with the opening tournament, scheduled for March 2 and 3 in the capital.
