Vega Gimenoreferent of Casademont Zaragoza women’s, has announced his retirement from basketball. The captain of the Zaragoza team, very charismatic both on and off the field, has praised Casademont Zaragoza, one of her “great loves.” In total, she has participated in 125 parties with the team in different competitions, managing to raise the Queen’s Cup.
“I have decided to end my sports career. I don’t want it to sound like goodbye. Today’s main message is gratitude in capital letters. Thank you for my sporting career, for everything I have experienced, the good and bad moments, but, above all, thank you for all the people who have crossed my path all these years and have made me a better athlete and, above all, a better person.”
Vega Gimeno also reflected on everything he achieved off the court. “The greatest achievement of this club and of me as captain and with which I leave eternally grateful and satisfied is that We have crossed the televisions, the houses, the seats, the hearts… “We have reached people, children, seniors, absolutely everyone, that is my legacy.”
The captain has listed all the people she has crossed paths with in her career, especially remembering the members of the technical staff in his time here in Zaragoza. And, of course, he has not forgotten the Red Tide, “his Red Tide.” “We have created something special, a synergy that has allowed me to overcome difficult moments on the court and to want to jump with my fists raised to celebrate each basket and each victory with you.”

But this will not be a definitive farewell, since will follow basketball “very closely”. “I am putting an end to this wonderful stage of my life to begin another, full of uncertainty, but which awakens a lot of hope and desire in me.
