Britain promotes trade with Madagascar through the DCTS program, supporting Madagascar’s economic growth.

Madagascar welcomes the DCTS (Developing Countries Trading Scheme) program, initiated by the United Kingdom, aimed at facilitating trade. “Madagascar will be able to export to the British market without customs duties, in accordance with the agreements defined within the framework of the DCTS,” declared the British Ambassador, David William Ashley, during his meeting with the Minister of Industrialization and Trade, Edgard Razafindravahy, in Ambohidahy, yesterday. He underlined the importance of the conclusion of the Interim Economic Partnership Agreement for Madagascar, highlighting the economic and commercial advantages that this represents.

For his part, the Minister of Industrialization and Trade highlighted government initiatives aimed at improving the business climate in Madagascar. “We have made considerable efforts and implemented policies to stimulate investment in Madagascar. The support of international partners is valuable for the development of Malagasy industry, particularly for the identification of project developers and investors,” underlined Minister Razafindravahy. Furthermore, he also recalled the importance of preserving the quality and reputation of vanilla, the flagship product of Malagasy exports. “We aspire for Malagasy vanilla to be integrated into the London stock market, thus ensuring stability in its price,” he added, a request to which the diplomat was favorable.

In addition, Ambassador David William Ashley also announced that a day of exchanges with investors interested in business in Madagascar will be organized on March 25, thus offering them an opportunity to discover local economic potential.
