The Cabildo of Lanzarote presented this morning at the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater “El Salinero” the sixth edition of the School Theater Festival which will take place from next May 14 to 17.

The Minister of Culture, Jesús Machín Tavío, expressed that “the School Theater Festival is an opportunity for young people to explore the performing arts, promoting group cohesion, empathy and integration. It is more than an event, it is an instrument to transform, communicate and educate.” In addition, the counselor added that “the Festival is positioned as a powerful tool that transforms, communicates, educates, sensitizes and culturalizes, thus laying a solid foundation for the cultural enrichment of the young generations”.

The festival director, Siscu Ruiz, explained that this “has been consolidated over five editions as a space where participants not only present scenic pieces, but also express their concerns, worries and dreams through living arts. Immersive experience

He School Theater Festival It has become a completely immersive experience. To prepare the young participants, a previous period full of educational and training activities has been designed. With the aim of offering the necessary tools and an environment to enhance expression and collective creation, the Festival also offers teachers prior and certified training where they are provided with the knowledge and advice necessary to immerse themselves in the exciting process of theatrical assembly with his students.

The School Theater Festival, in line with its fundamental objectives, seeks to open the doors of artistic and creative expression to young people from an early age. This project seeks to illuminate the path towards appreciation and active participation in the performing arts, involving the entire educational community.

This year with eight participating centers: CEIP Guiguan, CEIP Nieves Toledo, CEIP Las Mercedes, CEIP Concepción Rodríguez Artiles, CEO Playa Blanca, IES Yaiza, IES César Manrique, IES Haría.
