The journalist Itxaso Mardones, a reporter for the Investigation Team, died this Wednesday, April 23, as reported by the La Sexta program itself on its social media accounts and also by Secuoya, the production company responsible for it.

As reported by El Correo, Itxaso Mardones, who also worked on programs such as ‘España direct’ or ‘Te vas a finder’, was 45 years old and was a native of Vitoria. Graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the University of the Basque Country, she worked on local television Álava 7. One of her most iconic moments was when Luis Bárcenas dedicated a comb to her at the Barajas airport in 2013.
