– Another union threatens a second mobilization from June 1 to 30.

If you were planning to take a flight this Thursday, be careful: 70% of planned flights could be canceled. Indeed, a strike notice was filed for this Thursday, April 25 by the National Union of Air Traffic Controllers (SNCTA). As reported by our colleagues Echoesthe union denounces the air navigation services reform project. “The published version [par la Direction générale de l’aviation civile, DGAC, NDLR] is in no way significant for the SNCTA which considers it a provocation, if not an insult”details the SNCTA.

This call for strike follows negotiations launched by the DGAC, with the aim of a total overhaul of French air traffic control in order to operate “convergence towards its European counterparts”, both in terms of territorial coverage and acceleration of training or work organization. The majority union justifies its mobilization by “conduct of negotiations whose aim is rather to move forward on the breakage of a social contract as on the response to the challenges of air navigation and the expectations of the profession”.
