For Warsaw, Vladimir Putin’s statements to Tucker Carlson have “no credibility”

Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, Polish Deputy Prime Minister, reacted to Vladimir Putin’s comments saying he did not “no interests in Poland, Latvia or elsewhere”. According to Mr. Kosiniak-Kamysz, head of Polish national defense, “These comments have no credibility. Poland has tasks to accomplish as a member state of NATO and the European Union. Poland and its authorities have, above all, commitments to its citizens”.

“Let’s do our job, let’s prepare ourselves for different situations, nothing can dull our vigilance and words like these certainly don’t help, quite the contrary”insisted Mr. Kosiniak-Kamysz, to the press in Warsaw.

For his part, the President of the Polish Parliament, Szymon Holownia, denounced Friday “historical-literary ramblings” by Vladimir Putin on the history of Poland, Ukraine and Germany, as well as the role of« useful idiot » played by the American journalist during this interview. “Putin is rambling in this interview”said Mr. Holownia to the press.

According to him, “Putin is a mortal danger for the Baltic States (…), for Poland, for Europe and for freedom »while “Mr. Carlson played [dans cette interview] the role of a useful idiot (…) handing the microphone to a liar, to a murderer, to an international terrorist”said the President of the Polish Parliament.

Poland, a country bordering Ukraine, has since launched a costly program to strengthen its defense capabilities, devoting up to 4% of its gross domestic product (GDP).
