She published a video there on Monday where she accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of having killed Alexeï Navalny and wrote on Tuesday that she “did not care” about the comments from the Kremlin which considered her “rude and unfounded accusations”.
“Account suspended”, it was indicated on the page of the opponent’s widow, with X indicating without any further explanation to suspend “accounts which violate the Rules of X”.
The late opponent’s team had asked Elon Musk, the owner of the platform, in a tweet to “explain exactly what rules were violated” by Yulia Navalnaïa.
EU demands explanations
“During my DSA (Digital Services Act) compliance meeting with X CEO Linda Yaccarino, I emphasized that the arbitrary suspension of accounts – voluntarily or not – does not was not acceptable. The EU defends freedom of expression and online security,” the French Digital Commissioner wrote on X.
Alexeï Navalny, who was serving a 19-year prison sentence for “extremism” in a camp in the Russian Arctic, died on February 16 in detention, according to the authorities.
Citing ongoing medical legal procedures, the Russian authorities have so far refused to return the body of Alexeï Navalny to his family, so much so that his supporters consider that the Russian regime is seeking to cover up a murder. Accusations also rejected by the Kremlin.
The Western world strongly denounced the death of the opponent, imprisoned for more than three years, and judged the master of the Kremlin responsible. Vladimir Putin was “informed” of the death, according to his spokesperson, but did not comment.
