Over the year 2022, all disciplines combined (music, theater, dance, circus, humor, cabaret, etc.), at least 200,000 performances were given in France, generating 53 million tickets and revenue of 1.7 billion euros. These unprecedented live performance ticketing statistics, published at the end of December 2023 by Rue de Valois, were able to be established thanks to the new ministerial system Ticketing Information System (Sibil), enriched with data from the National Center for Music and Entertainment. Since 2018, all these entertainment entrepreneurs should have opened an account on the Sibil software and transmitted their declarations each quarter, this registration having been made compulsory by the law relating to freedom of creation, architecture and heritage of 7 July 2016. But this transparency of ticketing, supposed to improve the management of public policies, is difficult to obtain. Pop-rock and variety songs
Thus the concerts (pop-rock in the lead, followed by variety songs) represent not only the greatest number of tickets sold, but also the largest crowds (570 spectators on average) and the highest prices (38 euros on average). ). Conversely, theater and associated arts (circus, puppets, street arts) account for the greatest number of annual performances (100,400), attract 27% of the public in lower numbers (130 spectators on average), with an average price of 24 euros.
