Julien Bondia (second from right) came to bring his experience in Padel.

With the aim of propelling Malagasy padel to a higher level capable of competing with neighboring islands such as Mauritius and Reunion, the French expert and international padel coach, Julien Bondia, is in our walls for a period of three weeks. He will be leading individual or group courses since April 11 on three sites: Lamakoo in Ambatobe, Soavina and at Urban Futsal in Andraharo. More than 35 players and instructors responded to follow the course which moves from theory to practice. According to the explanation of Gary Ah-Waye, co-founder of the Malagasy Pro Tour with Sébastien Andriantsoa, “the objective is to train our players and technicians. We need the arrival of Julien Bondia through his experience during the three weeks.”

With humility and frankness, Julien Bondia speaks of the objective of his coming to Madagascar: “The goal is to bring to a higher level those who are already better but also I have to first check the level. I need a day or two to see. To go far, I advise you to create your identity in padel, go to other countries to gain experience,” confides Julien Bondia. The arrival of the French expert who resides in Spain is, according to his explanation, the result of pure chance. Very active on social networks through his tutorials and publications, particularly via YouTube or Instagram with his followers, during a banal exchange, the connection is forged between MPPTOUR and Julien Bondia. Five months later and with the will of both parties, the international coach is in Madagascar. “I’m very happy to be a part of this program. I have some experience but I am also here to learn,” concludes Julien Bondia.

Gary Ah-Waye did not hide his enthusiasm with the arrival of the international coach in padel. “He is the first international coach who came to Madagascar after two years of playing padel in Madagascar. We hope it works. As for us, we try to do our part,” concludes Gary Ah-Waye.

For this time, the internship and the sharing of experience remain in the capital because the majority of padel players in Madagascar are in Antananarivo.
