Colline Rabetafika and Sarah Randriandransana won the bronze medal.

The flag bearers of the Big Island did not stand out at the 8th edition of the Saint-Denis International Open in Reunion. The regional meeting was held Saturday and Sunday at the regional dojo of Champ-Fleuri. The Malagasy delegation won two bronze medals yesterday, won respectively by JC Esca judokate Colline Rabetafika in the -52 kg cadet category and Fianarantsoa fighter Sarah Randrianandrasana, entered in the -70 kg cadet category. The latter is also a member of the national wrestling team.

The fighters competing on Saturday in the junior category could not do better than fifth place in their respective category. Yasun Andrianjafitrimo in the cadets -66 kg could not go further because he was injured in the shoulder during his fight.

The international tournament brought together more than three hundred young judokas from the region, notably from Mauritius, Rodrigues, Madagascar, as well as from mainland France and Mozambique, in addition to Reunion. The representatives of the Big Island will still follow an international advanced training course from this Monday until Wednesday.
