Thirteen clubs are currently eligible to compete in the PFL.

The four clubs declared withdrawals, during the conference phase of the Orange Pro League version 2023, risk not being able to compete in the fifth edition of the Madagascar D1 elite championship, now called Pure Play Football League.

The clubs concerned, Asa de Diana, Uscafoot d’Analamanga, TF FC de Boeny and 3FB de Toliara should first settle their financial penalty worth 10 million ariary, according to the competition regulations. “We will discuss this case at the next club management meeting. This is the regulation and we will do our best to find a solution,” confides Samoela Balita Ambinitsoa, ​​Uscafoot forecaster.

These clubs will have until next week before establishing the schedule. The ten teams maintained are Fosa Juniors FC, AS Fanalamanga, CFFA, Disciples FC, Ajesaia, Cosfa, Elgeco Plus, Dato FC, Zanakala FC and Mama FC. The two teams which have just entered the Pro League are the Kakao Football club of Ambanja (KFCA) and Inate institute of Arts and Technology of Vakinankaratra. Jet Kintana and Tia Kitra, red lanterns in the conference phase during the previous edition of the OPL, are relegated.

The elimination phase kicks off on Sunday, February 11. The signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Federation and the association of elite football clubs of Madagascar (CFEM) is scheduled for today. Thirteen clubs are currently eligible to play the PFL this season. The teams entered will be divided into two conferences, North and South. The eight best ranked will qualify for the Play-offs.
