by daily weby

Fixed. With no official matches played since December, Madagascar remains 109th in the world in the new Fifa ranking updated yesterday. The Big Island lost one place during the last publication on December 21. Two countries from Madagascar’s group for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers have progressed. Mali, eighth finalist of the recent Can, eliminated by the host country in Ivory Coast, climbed four steps and is in 47th place. The Central African Republic, for its part, gained two places and occupies 129th place.

Ghana, eliminated in the group stage of the Can, has, for its part, lost six places and tumbled to 67th place. The Comoros also fell two steps (121st). And Chad maintains its ranking of 181st in the world.

In the African top 5, Morocco maintains the leading position and rises to 12th (+1) in the world, closely followed by Senegal, 17th (+3). Finalist of the Can, Nigeria made a big leap of fourteen steps (28th), ahead of Egypt (27th) and Tunisia (41st).
