The Madagascar Commercial Information Portal was launched on Tuesday. All the information necessary for operators is available there.

The Madagascar Commercial Information Portal (PICM) is now available, marking an important step in the simplification and centralization of commercial data. This development orchestrated by the Ministry of Industrialization and Trade, with the support of technical and financial partners, namely the African Development Bank, and the European Union, aims to eliminate bureaucratic barriers and promote greater transparency and predictability of export and import procedures.

Consider the export of vanilla, Madagascar’s flagship product. The PICM offers a complete guide to the procedures, from creating a SIG-OC account to obtaining phytosanitary certificates. This greatly simplifies access to foreign markets and supports initiatives such as the One District, One Factory (ODOF) project, by facilitating export procedures for beneficiaries of industrial units.

Detailed guides

The portal also guides users on the procedures to follow to establish a cooperative society. These guidelines are essential for Small and Medium Enterprises wishing to establish and grow their business operations. Irène Andriamaneho, director of entrepreneurship promotion within the MIC, specifies: “With the PICM, operators access the latest legislation and formalities necessary for the creation of a cooperative, without requiring physical travel to the ministry offices to obtain information and support.

Finally, the portal offers detailed guides on business laws and regulations, and offers practical tips for navigating international markets.

By providing easy and centralized access to trade information, PICM helps strengthen the competitiveness of local businesses and improve trade governance. In doing so, it contributes to creating a more equitable and efficient business environment in Madagascar. Operators can visit the site at the link: www.pic.commerce.mg.
