Diego Godín returns home to complete the circle.
Retired from the professional world since last summer after a final one-year stint at Vélez Sársfield in Argentina, the defender finally returns to the game by signing up with amateur club Centro Recreativo Porongos FC, 17 years after leaving his native Uruguay. The Pharaoh joins his friend Gonzalo “Chory” Castro (played by Mallorca, Real Sociedad and Málaga), who has also just joined this club. Happy, the former Atlético de Madrid captain declared: “I’m really looking forward to the moment when we can get together and enjoy together!” »
