Billund Airport, Denmark’s second largest, reopened on Saturday evening after a bomb alert which kept it closed most of the day, Danish police announced.
During their search of the airport, the police removed a objet “likely to contain explosives” but chemical tests will be carried out to confirm or not their presence, she said in a press release.
The airport, located in the center of the country, has reopened in the evening, according to police. During its closure, many flights had to be canceled or diverted.
A man arrested
At the police station “a arrested a man about thirty years old” who himself informed police at the airport that the item he had left contained explosives, she added.
Police are also investigating whether there is a link between this bomb threat and the dynamiting of an ATM in Billund Saturday before dawn.
Billund Airport is located near Lego headquarters and Legoland.
