No winner. Burundi were held to a draw by Botswana yesterday in the opening match of the second day of the Fifa window friendly tournament at the Barea Mahamasina Stadium. The two teams separated with a goalless draw at the end of regulation time. The Hirondelles of Burundi dominated the match by imposing their pressing.
The Burundians were superior in terms of ball possession and scoring chances. The Botswana Zebras were still able to resist, responding at every opportunity with counterattacks. The meeting was very competitive. The two teams were back to back especially in the last quarter of an hour. No goals were scored until the end of regulation time. Superior on paper, Burundi finished bottom after the opening defeat of 0-1 against Madagascar and yesterday’s draw against Botswana. The latter is ahead of him and occupies third place after two draws, against Rwanda on the first day of Friday and yesterday against Burundi.
