The Ankoay are ready to defend the national colors in Seychelles.

The organizing committee had to postpone the opening ceremony by a day. The first Acnoa (African Association of Olympic Committees) Zone 7 games dedicated to athletes under 18 were initially scheduled to take place from May 6 to 11 in Seychelles. Madagascar is represented in four disciplines.

The opening ceremony scheduled for yesterday evening at 7 p.m. local time at Berjava Beau Vallon Bay Hotel in Mahé had to be postponed until Tuesday due to the delay in the arrival of the Mauritian delegation. “The flight encountered a problem and had to change destination, making a detour via Nosy Be,” explains a reliable source within a local sports body. Everything was thus postponed.

The technical meeting scheduled for yesterday will take place this Tuesday. Beach volleyball and 3-on-3 basketball will take place this morning, and table tennis and swimming will take place in the afternoon. The competitions are scheduled from Tuesday May 7 to Friday May 10. Already on site since Sunday, the Malagasy delegation is made up of twenty-five athletes. Table tennis and swimming competitions are scheduled from the first day.

Five countries in the region, including Mauritius, Comoros, Djibouti, Madagascar and Seychelles, are participating in this event dedicated to young people.
