Alpine skiing: new podium for Clément Noël, who takes second place in the Palisades Tahoe slalom

by daily weby

On the Californian slopes, Clément Noël put on a show this Sunday. The Frenchman offered himself a new podium, the third in a row, by finishing the Palisades Tahoe slalom in second position, behind the Austrian Manuel Feller (+ 0′′28). The latter is the undisputed leader of the discipline in the World Cup, since he largely dominates the ranking with four victories in eight events. But the French skier also looks good.

With three podiums in a row in a slalom, he is the third best skier of the 2023-2024 season in the discipline rankings (352 points). If Manuel Feller is in the lead (590 points), the German Linus Strasser is not very far from the Frenchman (386 points). With three slaloms remaining before the end of the season, the fight for second place promises to be tight.

Author of a fabulous second round in California, Clément Noël is still looking for a victory this winter. Despite everything, the 26-year-old Frenchman is reassured by his consistency. The Olympic slalom champion, in 2022 in Beijing, has not finished on the podium in the discipline rankings for three years. However, he had been second at each World Cup between 2019 and 2021.

Earlier in the weekend, Swiss Marco Odermatt secured the big crystal globe. Winner of the giant slalom on Saturday at Palisades Tahoe, the 26-year-old skier still asserts his domination on the world circuit.
