A British Airways plane, heading to London, diverted to Brest due to “a medical emergency”

by daily weby

A British Airways plane, which left the Canary Islands towards London, had to make an emergency landing this Sunday evening, as shown by the specialist site Flightradar24.

The plane, which left Gran Canaria shortly before 7 p.m. (local time), was diverted “due to a medical emergency on board”, indicates British Airways on. “It will return to its destination, London Gatwick, soon,” continues the company.

Code 7700 activated

A code 7700 was triggered while the Airbus A320 was flying over France, Flightradar24 indicated in the middle of the evening. This code is issued in the event of a mid-flight emergency, and consists of a request for immediate help from the pilots.

At the end of January, an easyJet plane, flying between Antalya (Turkey) and Manchester (United Kingdom), had to make an emergency landing in Lyon, due to storm Isha which affected Great Britain and the north from France.

The Airbus A320 had traveled all the way to Manchester, circled around the British airport, before crossing the Channel and part of France to arrive in Lyon. Another flight, linking Manchester to Dublin, landed in Beauvais, again due to bad weather conditions.
