Untouchables. The Antonio-Hasina duo from the Mama d’Analamanga club wins its sixth senior men’s title, at the “Tama Beach” beach volleyball tournament which is in its seventh edition. The tournament, sponsored by Optica Ny Solomaso, was held on Saturday and Sunday at the seaside of the town of Toamasina, in front of the Bateau Ivre.
Antonio and Hasina won 2-0 against the Cosfa team of Analamanga, Willot and Mamy. Among the senior ladies, the Andry-Momi pair from the Analamanga Squad defeated Julienne and Francia from Stef’auto d’Atsinanana by 2 to 0. The U20 boys’ final was an affair between volleyball players from the Mami club in Atsinanana. Tomy and Yendi beat their teammates, Loprivat and Aina by 2-0.
Around twenty teams took part in this national-scale competition which brings together the country’s beach volleyball players. The tournament appears in the calendar of the Malagasy Volleyball Federation. Three other competitions of the same scale are still planned this season, notably the Open tournament as part of the Festibeach of the Whale Festival in Sainte-Marie in July, then the Open of the Somaroho Festival in Nosy Be in August. and, as a finale, the national championship, from October 4 to 6, in Toamasina.
