The Ama club, organizer of the second round of the Madagascar runs championship, will bring several innovations on Sunday in Arivonimamo.

Innovations at every event. One month after the inaugural round, at the end of April, the “Round II”, second round of the Madagascar runs championship, will be held on Sunday June 2, at Base 213 in Arivonimamo. After the test during the first round, the “First Challenge”, “the electric category will now join the championship. The drivers will be categorized according to the power of their car, recorded on the registration document,” underlines Rindra Ranaivo, president of the Antananarivo Moto Auto club.

Four-wheel drive vehicles will be classified in Pro Run, those with less than 250 HP in Super Run and those with less than 200 HP in Run. “An informed or unannounced technical inspection could be required before the race. And for safety reasons, the rollbar is required in the event of lightening the welded parts of the car according to the competition regulations,” advises the number one of the organization.

The organizing club also promises the proper functioning of the timing, which interrupts and delays the progress of the races, during previous rounds. “The Federation’s technical team will ensure the proper functioning of the timing system well before the start of the race,” reassures the organization.

American system

Around forty or even fifty competitors are expected at this second national round. “The race will be run under international regulations, very popular in the United States, on a quarter mile circuit, over a distance of 402 meters,” specifies Rindra Ranaivo.

A very first for the participants in the open, “there will be a timing of the free practice. The race will be contested with the remaining winning system. And the duel will be done by drawing lots. The objective is for competitors at the open to be able to evaluate their performance and compare their times to those of the drivers in the championship,” notes the organizer. Registrations will close this Thursday.

The price of entry saw a significant increase of 100%. That for a four-wheeled vehicle amounts to 40,000 ariary compared to 20,000 ariary during the first round, not counting the number of people inside and two wheels at 20,000 ariary. “The event will, however, be broadcast live on the Ama club Facebook page. Six cameras and a drone will be deployed,” promises the president of the organizing club.

The victory of the first round was snatched by Herizo Boarilaza, known as Bobo, on Mitsubishi Evo V. He also achieved a new record of 9”13 against 9”76, his own best time achieved during the fourth and final round of the previous season.
