Incubator of Malagasy volleyball. Two clubs from Itaosy shone during the Analamanga youth championships this weekend at the Ankorondrano gymnasium. The finals were held on Sunday and the semi-finals on Saturday. ASI and BI’AS, clubs from Itaosy both achieved a nice double each. ASI won two titles out of five finals contested. This national champion club of U20 boys confirmed its supremacy yesterday by beating in the final by 3 sets to 0 GNVB. The second coronation was won by the girls of Itaosy who disposed of the GNVB by 2 sets to 1 once again. ASI lost three more finals. The club did not make the weight and lost to BI’AS in the U18 girls, by 0 to 3. BI’AS doubled the lead by disposing by 2 to 1 GNVB in the U16 boys. BI’AS therefore ensured its two disputed finals. GNVB, one of the leading clubs in the country, won only one title out of four finals. The Gendarmes snatched the victory in pain in five sets after tie-break against ASI (3-2). At the end of the suspense, CCVB for its part snatched the title of champion of Analamanga among the U20 girls by winning after tie-break against ASI. Final point on the regional youth summit. The senior men and women will begin the final phase on Sunday 9 July. The 1DM and 1DF quarter-finals will take place on Sunday in Itaosy and the semi-finals a week later. Saturday was also marked by the unexpected visit of the President of the Republic who visited this site which will house Judo at the Games of the Islands. He took the opportunity to watch the game for a while.
