The Tigres de Licey baseball players thanked the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, for recognizing them as the best baseball team in the Caribbean country.
“Although of course, in the Dominican Republic the game is baseball (or ball, as they call it there) and the Tigres del Licey rule there! Sorry to my eaglet friends in the DR, but the truth is the truth,” the President wrote after the game in which the Beach Soccer Team defeated the Dominican Republic 15-1.
Given this praise, the Dominican team wrote on their Twitter account: “Thank you President Bukele for your distinction. We are honored that you are a member of this great Blue Family. It had to be said and it was said!”
