On the night of this Tuesday, July 11, the deputies of the Legislative Assembly approved with 67 votes in favor, the reforms to the Electoral Code, in order to incorporate the name and photograph of the presidential candidate on the ballot paper for the next elections in 2024.
«With this reform, what is sought is equality. It is convenient that the face of the presidential candidate appears on the ballots so that the population can identify who they will vote for, “said the deputy for the Bancada Cyan, William Soriano.
Through these modifications, the Legislative Plenary session plans to reinforce the democratic processes in the country, in addition to generating greater transparency and equal conditions for the candidates who will participate in the next elections.
Likewise, it will benefit the voters with the clear identification of the candidates and will provide greater ease to cast the vote, in terms of the electoral process, it will allow the standardization of the voting mechanisms to give more credibility and efficiency when scrutinizing the minutes.
