A successful sixteenth edition and good duels took place. The 16th edition of the Raid d’Isalo delighted nature race enthusiasts on Saturday in the town of Ranohira. And unsurprisingly it was the inevitable Tahirinirina Jeannot Avotriniaina who won the 45km distance in 3 hours 54 minutes 24 seconds 93/100. This is the first time that a Raid d’Isalo runner has covered the distance under four hours. Jean Nelson Raotozafy with his time of 4 hours 7 minutes 0 seconds 3/100 took second place ahead of Alphonse Tsirindrena who came third with his time of 4 hours 14 minutes 23 seconds 74/100. Among the ladies, Andrée Sidonie Randrianarivelo won with her time of 6 hours 9 minutes 51 seconds 13/100 ahead of Denise Delgrade from La Réunion, completing the distance in 6 hours 12 minutes 9 seconds 86/100. Laly Rakotoarivelo took the third step of the podium with her time of 6 hours 30 minutes 47 seconds 54/100. The striking fact of this ISALO 2023 raid was the climb on the podium of the two sisters Norolalaina Rajaonasolo in the M2 category by closing the distance of 25 km in 4h 3min 22secondes and its sister Domoina Harimiora Rajaonasolo in the M1 category in 4 hours 0 minute 54 seconds and the daughter of Domoina Harimora Rajaonasolo second in its category.
