With the legendary Kobe Bryant chosen to illustrate the cover of this year’s issue, NBA 2K24 arrives, for fans of video games and basketball. The developer company launched an announcement full of news in which confirmed the release date, the versions that will be available and also that the new installment will bring an unprecedented feature.
The company 2K announced that the game will go on sale for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC platforms. next Friday, September 8.
“As we celebrate 25 years of NBA 2K with Kobe Bryant, we commemorate his legacy and the generational impact he had on basketball,” the firm said in the statement.
New this year is that 2K24 will incorporate crossplay (Cross-play, in English) that allows players from different platforms to play together or against each other. In this case, it will only be enabled for PS5 and Xbox Series users.
$13,999 is the price of the standard version of the video game on the Steam platform. No tax included.
For PC gamers, the video game can already be pre-purchased on the Valve platform, Steam, and the three versions are available: Kobe Bryant Edition; Black Mamba Edition; y, 25th Anniversary Edition – Summer League. Prices start at $13,999 for the first one, then it goes up to $22,999 and, finally, the most complete one goes up to $34,999. All amounts without taxes included.
The standard version of the game is the cheapest, the second offers virtual coins and more for career mode and MyTeam, and promises a more complete experience.

While the more expensive version will not only be available for a limited time (until September 10), but includes exclusive game content and up to NBA League Pass for one year, plus live games and content to fully follow the elite basketball season.
The female video game community was excited about this year’s edition because it was going to include a WNBA version, however, the developers confirmed that it will only be available in physical version for the United States and Canada.
