The former member of the ranks of ARENA and former candidate for the presidency on the part of the tricolor party, Luis Parada, did not rule out that he could accept the candidacy that the “civil society” organizations propose as an Alliance between the opposition parties.
In 2020, Parada reported that in 2017 he registered with ARENA, with the aim of seeking to participate in the 2021 elections, however, he was left aside in the internal elections due to the competition between Javier Siman and Carlos Callejas.
“I registered with the party in April 2017 to have the minimum time necessary to register as a candidate when the process opened. Carlos Calleja and Javier Simán had also just signed up,” Parada wrote at the time.
Since the victory of President Nayib Bukele in the presidential elections, ARENA and the FMLN have remained in a political crisis, from which they have not been able to emerge. Given this, “civil society” has proposed an Alliance to avoid the extinction of these opposition movements, which for years handed the country over to the gangs.
Yesterday, Parada hinted at his registration in the Nuestro Tiempo party: “It is not my time. Its our time. The time of all El Salvador”.
