In its very first outing and international participation, the women’s football school Young football Madera Club (Yfomac) finished third out of the thirty-two teams entered in the fifth edition of the Swiss Girls Cup U15. The tournament was held in the town of Bern-Neufeld Neubruckstrasse in Switzerland. The final phase was not played in a classic format because there were no quarter-finals or semi-finals. “The heads of pools played, after the group phase, classification matches and the two best ranked played the final”, explains Ny Ando Rafalimanana, one of the leaders on the spot. The flag-bearing team of Madagascar won by 2 goals to 0 against FC Breitenrain of Belgium, goals scored by Illary (13th) and Julia (14th) in the classification match for third place. Also, in the final phase classification match, Yfomac defeated Team Furttal by 2 to 0, goals scored by Sarindra and Julia. The Swiss team Grasshoppe R. Club Zurich U13 were crowned champions of the tournament, ahead of the US Terre Sainte Team Grun. In the elimination phase, Yfomac finished first in group B. The football school of the Big Island dismissed FC Sarine Ouest-France in the first match by 2 to 0, signed Tsiky (1st) and Sarindra (9th). The girls went on to defeat the US Schkuein Illanz Team Srselva of Great Britain by 1-0. The only goal of victory was the work of Mitia (12th). And in the third match, the Malagasy team was neutralized with a goalless score against BSC Young Boys U13 of Belgium. After the tournament in Switzerland, the team will make a two-week sports tour of France where they will meet the Dieu Donné Puiseaux football club agreement and the women’s football club of the commune of Claye Souilly.
