Two runners from the Big Island will start the Dodo Trail this morning in Mauritius. These are the semi-trail champions of the 14th edition of the Ultra trail des Ô Plateaux, 70 km long in early May. The flag bearers of the country, in this case Jean Claude, runner of AC Crown of Antsirabe, and Marie Noéline Razafiarisoa of AS Fanalamanga, are both engaged in the extreme distance of 50 km baptized Squad. This will be the second participation for Noéline, multiple trail champion in Madagascar, while Jean Claude known as “Doda” will participate for the very first time in this prestigious mountain race on the island of Dodos. The Malagasy delegation has been there since Wednesday. Four events over a distance of 25 km, 10 km and 5 km, in addition to the extreme of 50 km, are on the program for this trail which takes wild paths climbing and winding five mountains, in a breathtaking landscape.
