After the last snowfall that contributed about 40 centimeters of snow, the pre-opening of Cerro Catedral was defined for this Thursday.
Starting tomorrow, you will be able to access to the southern sector of the mountain, known as Track 2000.
To this sector, you ascend by the Cable car Amancay -carries 2,000 passengers per hour on a 15-minute journey up to 1,800 meters above sea level- and the horse tooth chairlift -allows you to ascend to 1,936 meters-.
In these sectors will be enabled the gastronomic inns La Roca and Punta Princesa.
From the concession company of the hill, they highlighted that tomorrow there will be a promotional rate for the purchase of passes that are purchased at the ticket office. The pass will cost 15,000 pesos (and not 29,000); while Banco Francés customers will have access to a 50% discount.
«We are talking about a pre-opening because snow conditions are expected to add more means and slopes. Soon we hope to be able to add to the base of the hill,” they warned from Alta Patagonia Cathedral (Capsa).
The 40 centimeters of snow that have been added in the last hours make the summit register a average of 70 centimeters in some sectors.
«We have been making snow although the conditions of temperature and humidity have to be met. We need a wet bulb temperature of two degrees below zero,” said Capsa’s Belén Johnson.
