The Legislative Assembly reformed the Electoral Code last Tuesday, in order to incorporate the name and photograph of the presidential candidate on the ballot paper for the next elections in 2024.
Through these reforms, they will benefit voters with the clear identification of candidates, making it easier for them to vote when choosing a candidate, especially in the case of people who do not have reading skills.
Regarding the electoral process, it will allow the standardization of the voting mechanisms, an action with which they plan to give more credibility and efficiency at the time of scrutiny of the minutes.
On the other hand, these reforms seek to reinforce the democratic processes in El Salvador, providing greater transparency and equality of conditions to the candidates who will participate for the different political parties.
With these modifications, we create a level playing field for the candidates who will participate in the 2024 elections.
